EPIC Africa — CLEWS Modelling for the Water–Energy–Food Nexus

EPIC Africa is a Horizon Europe consortium of €2,499,675 spanning European and African partners. Work Package 6 covers climate, land, energy and water systems (CLEWS) modelling for the water–energy–food nexus — the integrated framework that forces energy planning, land use and water availability to be solved together rather than sequentially.

The role carries the data analysis for that work package: assembling and interrogating the inputs and outputs that the CLEWS framework consumes and produces, and holding them to a standard where a partner in another country can use them.

It also carries the communications brief across the consortium — partner communications spanning the European and African institutions, which in a distributed modelling consortium is the difference between shared method and parallel effort. The programme is one of two engagements where the technical and communications strands are held in the same post.
