Moving IMPACT — Solar Mini-Grids and EV Charging

Moving IMPACT asks what happens when solar mini-grids and electric vehicle charging are designed as one system rather than two, and tests the answer across four countries with very different grid conditions — the United Kingdom, Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana.

The role manages stakeholder engagement across that spread, linking academic partners with transport and energy authorities and with civil society. Where a UKRI programme meets a national regulator, the constraint is rarely the research; it is whether the right institution is in the room early enough for the result to matter.
