“Government Goes Solar” Feasibility Study
Ministry of Energy, Ghana — funded by KfWEnvironmental SpecialistJan – Jun 2022
Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental and Social Management Plan for a rooftop solar initiative across 57 public facilities.
The “Government Goes Solar” initiative put rooftop photovoltaics on public facilities across Ghana. The environmental brief covered the Environmental Impact Assessment for the rooftop solar programme across 57 public facilities — a portfolio assessment rather than a site one, with the variation between facility types doing much of the analytical work.
The Environmental and Social Management Plan that followed governs the identification and mitigation of impacts across the full facility portfolio, giving the Ministry of Energy a single instrument to hold installations to as the programme rolls out.
